As the Pro Chancellor of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Dr. Ballal is responsible for the challenges of running India's first private University and maintaining academic standards for both faculty and students. Dr. Ballal has been an active member of Indian Medical Association and was elected President of Indian Medical Association, Dakshin Kannada.
He has held leadership positions in Indian Radiology and Imaging Associations and has published several papers in reputed journals. Known for his dynamism and teamwork he recently implemented innovations in patient care and clinical teaching. He directs the activities of the University in academics and regulatory issues for the present and as a foundation for the future. In 2005, he was awarded by IBM as the most student friendly Vice Chancellor award. |

As Executive Chairman of Manipal Group, he developed a research thrust. He has worked in global CEO positions in GE and was Vice Chairman of Wipro. He serves on the boards of Pharma companies, industry advocacy organizations and Research Institutes.
Prasanna is a pioneer in creating market for high technology medical equipment, delivering clinical excellence at low patient fees, through frugal innovation. This background enabled EA to become world’s leading contrast agent CRO. With Manipal, he laid foundation for cell therapy research, leading to an allogenic stem cell company. He is an early stage investor in this space. This passion led to EA specializing in cell therapy studies.
He is Chairman of Association of CROs (ACRO India). He is member of: Vision Group on Biotechnology, Karnataka; Biotechnology National Council and Pharmaceutical National Council of CII (Confederation of Indian Industry). He is Director of Take Solutions Ltd. He is strategic Advisor to InnAccel, a leading med-tech accelerator. He is a Trustee on Shriram Ownership Trust, which shapes direction of Shriram group. He is considered a thought leader in pharma and biotech.

Dr. Jagdish N Sheth is the Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Marketing in the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. Prior to his present position, he was at the University of Southern California (7 years); at the University of Illinois (15 years), and on the faculty of Columbia University (5 years), as well as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2 years). Dr. Sheth is nationally and internationally known for his scholarly contributions in consumer behavior, relationship marketing, competitive strategy and geopolitical analysis.
Professor Sheth has worked for numerous industries and companies in the United States, Europe and Asia, both as an Advisor and as a Seminar Leader. His clients include AT&T, BellSouth, Cox Communications, Delta, Ernst & Young, Ford, GE, Lucent Technologies, Motorola, Nortel, Pillsbury, Sprint, Square D, 3M, Whirlpool and many more. He has offered more than a thousand presentations in at least twenty countries. He is also on the Board of Directors of several public companies including Norstan (NASDAQ), Cryo Cell Internatinal (NASDAQ) and Wipro Limited (NYSE).
In 1989, Dr. Sheth was given the Outstanding Marketing Educator award by the Academy of Marketing Science. In 1991 and again in 1999, he was given the Outstanding Educator Award by the Sales and Marketing Executives International (SMEI). Dr. Sheth was also awarded the P.D. Converse Award for his outstanding contributions to theory in marketing in 1992 by the American Marketing Association. In 1996, Dr. Sheth was selected as the Distinguished Fellow of the Academy of Marketing Science. In 1997, Dr. Sheth was awarded the Distinguished Fellow award from the International Engineering Consortium. Dr. Sheth is also a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA). 2004 marked a stellar year for Dr. Sheth as he was awarded both the Richard D. Irwin Distinguished Marketing Educator Award and the Charles Coolidge Parlin Award which are the two highest awards given by the American Marketing Association.
A prolific author, Dr. Sheth has authored or coauthored hundreds of articles and books. In 2000, Dr. Sheth and Andrew Sobel published a best seller, Clients for Life (Simon & Schuster) and in 2001, the book Value Space (McGraw-Hill), coauthored with Banwari Mittal, was published. Dr. Sheth's latest book, The Rule of Three (Free Press), was coauthored with Dr. Rajendra Sisodia and published in 2002. In addition, he is under contract to co-author three books: Tectonic Shift, Firms of Endearment and 4 As of Marketing. |

Dr. Ranjan Pai set up the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG), the corporate entity responsible for the administration of new and existing hospitals and the education institutions of the group. He is responsible for conceptualizing the Melaka-Manipal Medical College (MMMC), Malaysia as a world-class international medical college to place Manipal in the global arena. It is a testimony to Dr. Ranjan Pai's skills and a demonstration of the making of an Indian MNC. Besides, Dr. Ranjan Pai is focused on taking up the Education and Healthcare Programme in Western countries like UK & US.
Dr. Pai is a medical graduate of the Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and has studied Hospital Administration in the United States. He has an excellent insight into the functioning of large healthcare systems and medical schools, having been exposed to the nuances of healthcare administration and medical education at various stages.
As the CEO of MEMG, Dr. Ranjan Pai's focus is on the new business initiatives of the group. He is acknowledged for financial restructuring of the Group and creating a platform for the induction of private equity for the rapid growth of the Group. |

Mr. R. Sundara Rajan is a Mechanical Engineer from Jadavpur University, Calcutta, and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, with around 30 years experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, out of which 15 years as CEO. He is also a Chartered Engineer and Associate of the Insurance Institute of India.
He has occupied senior management positions in the industry in the areas of marketing, general management. As a Consultant, he was instrumental in setting up a few pharmaceutical projects. His last assignment was as the Executive VP of Matrix Laboratories Ltd one of the fastest growing and most profitable companies in the pharmaceutical industry in India. He is currently on the Corporate Advisory Board of Matrix Laboratories Limited and advisor to the Shriram Group of companies, Chennai.
He has hands on experience in pharmaceutical marketing, pharmaceutical projects and setting up foreign collaboration ventures in India. During a short tenure as Consultant, he was instrumental in bringing the latest pharmaceutical technology into the Country and also introducing good manufacturing practices in the ventures set up by him. |

Dr. Sunny Sharma is a Senior Managing Director on the Asia team of OrbiMed Advisors. Dr. Sharma has more than 10 years of life sciences experience spanning venture capital, investment banking, and clinical practice.
Dr. Sharma was previously with Investor Growth Capital (IGC), the wholly owned global venture capital arm of Investor AB, and before that he was at Easton Capital, a venture capital fund in New York. While at IGC and Easton Capital, Dr. Sharma led or played a senior role on over a dozen life sciences investments. Earlier in his career, Dr. Sharma was with Lehman Brothers' healthcare investment banking group in London, and before that he practiced medicine in northern India.

Dr. Patel is a founding managing director of vSpring Capital. From 1999 to 2004 he was the Founder, Chairman, President & CEO of Ashni Naturaceuticals, Inc., a company that specializes in the research, development and marketing of clinically tested and patent-protected naturaceutical products. Prior to vSpring, he co-founded and served as Chairman and CEO of TheraTech, a biotechnology company, which was sold for $350 million to Watson Therapeutics soon after a successful IPO. Dr. Dinesh was also a Co-Founder and Founding CEO and Chairman of Salus Therapeutics. Dr. Dinesh has led investments in Altea Therapeutics, Exagen, Pharmadigm, Protolex, Q Therapeutics, and Salus Therapeutics
