As a founder, he has mapped the vision and strategy for the organization. He has experience in leveraging Asian competitiveness building successful global business in medical technology for GE and software for Wipro. As Exec Chairman of the Manipal Group, his focus was on developing a research thrust for the Group. Considered a thought leader in Health care and Life Sciences, he has worked in global leadership positions in GE and was Vice Chairman of Wipro. He serves on the board of various Pharma companies and Research institutes.
Prasanna is acknowledged in the healthcare sector as the pioneer in creating a market for high tech. medical equipment and delivering clinical excellence at low patient fees in Asian Hospitals, through innovative strategies. As the startup CEO of GE Medical in India, he also developed a $330 m Global Business in healthcare for GE Medical Systems (GEMS) by leveraging India's competitiveness taking the company from no 5 to No 1. He has also been a founding member of Wipro's team that initiated the company's entry into IT and was Vice Chairman of Wipro Ltd.
He is an independent Director of Take Solutions Ltd. He serves on the Governing Council of Center for Policy Research, India's leading Think Tank and of T A Pai Management Institute, a reputed Business School. He is a Trustee on Shriram Ownership Trust, which shapes the strategy of Shriram group of companies. He has served as Chairman of GEBEL, GEMS IT Ltd and GE X-Ray(South Asia) and Director of GE Yokogawa Medical Systems Ltd, Japan and GE Samsung Ltd, Korea, Wipro GE Medical Systems Ltd, India and Shasun Chemical & Drugs Ltd India. He brings rich experience in pharma and healthcare.

Balaji Durai Iyengar as Country Manager & Chief Executive Officer is accountable for managing and accelerating the growth of India business.
Balaji joined us as one of the founding members in 2005 January. He has played a key role in evolving the strategy, monitoring performance and raising resources. As a key member of the M&A team, he was instrumental in the globalization initiatives in the Company & played a vital role in expansion to Europe the company’s operations. During his tenure he has established great credibility with private equity funds & key investors in life sciences domain, whoare thought leaders in the Pharma industry.
He has worked closely with the business leaders and the Board to contribute to our journey so far. He has served on the Board of Ecron Acunova GmbH and brings the insight of both Europe and India business to build synergy. He joined Manipal group and served in distance education, healthcare BPO, clinical process outsourcing services in finance function. He has the distinction of working in four start-up companies and contributing to their successful growth.
He is a member of the Finance council of the prestigious CII(Confederation of Indian Industry), Karnataka Chapter. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India with nearly 15 years of industry experience. |

Kohkan Shamsi, MD & PhD

Kohkan Shamsi MD, PhD is a radiologist and has more than 20 years of pharmaceutical, regulatory, clinical and academic experience.
Dr. Shamsi started his career as a Radiologist with Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia. Then he joined the department of radiology in Antwerp University Hospital, Belgium where he completed his PhD. He moved to Berlin and worked as Research Physician in Diagnostic Imaging at Schering AG, Berlin, Germany. After working for about 5 years in Germany he was transferred to Berlex Inc. New Jersey, USA (a subsidiary of Schering AG) where he has worked for about 8 years as Senior Associate Director, Clinical Development and rose to the position of Head, Medical Development of Diagnostic Imaging & Radio pharmaceuticals & Head of Global Medical Imaging.
Dr. Shamsi has conceptualized, coordinated, and executed over 25 multi-center, international clinical trials (phase I - phase III) to develop new MRI contrast agents for oncology imaging, CNS, Magnetic Resonance Angiography and cardiac imaging. These trials were performed in Europe, the USA, South America and Australia and India. He was one of the first at Schering AG to leverage emerging markets like Latin America and India in clinical trials.
Dr. Shamsi has submitted many NDAs in Europe, USA and Japan with successful outcomes and interacts with regulatory agencies for IND, PMA, pre NDA and other regulatory meetings.
Dr Shamsi has published extensively including book, book chapter and more than 90 papers and abstracts in indexed journals. He regularly participate in various scientific forums, meetings, initiatives for image standardization, image evaluations, and image management for drug development and lectures in global meetings and conferences.
Since 2006, he has been with Ecron Acunova in leadership positions and continues to contribute to its phenomenal growth. |

Michael Kokesh
Strategic Advisor
Michael Kokesh as Strategic Advisor is responsible for client development from the West Coast of US. He advises the company on marketing and strategic initiatives particularly in US.
Michael is an experienced lawyer, entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and general counsel to private and publicly-traded companies. During his career, Michael has been an executive officer and a member of the board of directors of four successful, venture-financed medical technology companies.
In addition, Michael served from August 2000 until September 2001 as the chief executive officer of the Ischemia Research & Education Foundation (IREF), a scientific research institute and an affiliate of the University of California – San Francisco Medical Center, a company he served as legal counsel from its inception in 1987 until 1996. During that time, Michael also was instrumental in the organization and management of the McSPI Research Institute, a group of leading academic research institutions in 26 countries with more than 100 member physicians.
Through his involvement with IREF and McSPI, Michael is acknowledged as a contributor to several peer reviewed manuscripts published in the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the American Medical Association and other medical society and scientific journals.
Michael is a member of the board of directors of Pericor Therapeutics, a San Francisco and New York-based pharmaceutical company.
A graduate of the University of Colorado – Boulder, Michael received a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Distributive Studies (English literature, Political Science and Molecular Biology) in 1974. He received his degree of Juris Doctor from the University of California – Hastings College of the Law in 1979. In July 2010, Michael was nominated as a Fellow of the American Bar Association Foundation in recognition of his contributions to the legal profession. |

Klaus D. Wiedey, MD

As founder and CEO of Ecron in Europe, Dr Wiedey successfully led the company for more than 2 decades. He focuses on leveraging the company’s growth, its potential and globalization, while cultivating its quality, values and reputation.
Dr Wiedey has 35 years experience in the pharmaceutical and CRO industry. Prior to founding Ecron in 1986, Dr Wiedey was Head of International Clinical Research of the Section Overseas at Boehringer Mannheim, Medical Director and Vice President at Basotherm, and Executive Medical Director for the German Operative Unit of Byk-Gulden (later Altana/Nycomed).
Dr Wiedey is member of the International Society for Clinical Biostatistics, the European Forum for GCP and the International Society for the Economic Evaluation of Medicines. Dr Wiedey is a speaker at various international forums on clinical research.
Dr Wiedey is alumnus of Albert Ludwig University, Freiburg from where he graduated as MD. His specializations include clinical pharmacology and medical informatics and he holds a GDPharMed Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine. |
